                                        Commissions

                                            Paintings

I sell many paintings to clients as direct commissions; a commission is where I paint a specific painting for a client, where they supply the ideas for the subject, or the mood and color.  A commission is the best way to proceed for those who desire a painting of specific subject matter or size.  This process begins with a conversation about the kind of painting you might want.  Generally this means size, price, subject, mood or reference to earlier paintings.  When an agreement is reached on a particular theme, one third of the total sum for the painting is required, less the cost of framing and shipping.  Next, a conceptual painting is completed (usually 9"x12") which shows more detail, and a thoroughly developed concept.  At this stage, color and composition are established for the final painting.  A final painting does not begin until this smaller piece is approved.  I request the second third of the overall payment before beginning the final
painting.  Upon completion on the final painting, a digital photographs of the painting are provided and, upon client's approval, the last payment, plus cost of framing and shipping is then due and forwarded. Upon receipt of payment, the finished Sculpture is shipped.
I retain possession of all preliminary paintings and or drawings unless they are negotiated into the final price. These sketches can be made available for sale after the project is completed. I also reserve the right to make limited edition prints of the completed paintings to be offered for sale to others after completion of the project.
The commissioned work usually takes several months to complete, depending on the size of the workload currently existing at the studio.

                                            Sculptures

I sell many of my Bronze Sculptures to clients as direct commissions; a commission is where I sculpt a specific bronze sculpture for a client, where they supply the ideas for the subject, or the mood.  A commission is the best way to proceed for those who desire a specific subject matter or size.
This process begins with a conversation about the kind of sculpture you might want.   Generally this means size, price, subject, mood or reference to earlier bronze sculptures.  The process begins with a sketches of the proposed sculpture (a conceptual drawing is a completed, which shows more detail, and a thoroughly developed concept is reached on a particular theme) once approved , then one third of the total sum for the sculpture is required. Next,  at this stage, I start sculpting and creating the subject sculpture in clay.  Once the final clay sculpture is finished and approved I request the second third of the overall payment, before I send the clay sculpture to the foundry to be cast as a bronze sculpture.  This where we can discuss patina (finishing color for the sculpture) and the kind of base or pedestal the finished sculpture will rest on.
Upon completion by the foundry a digital photographs of the final bronze sculpture are provided and, upon client's approval, the last payment, plus shipping is then due and forwarded. Upon receipt of payment, the finished Sculpture is shipped.
I retain possession of all preliminary drawings unless they are negotiated into the final price. These sketches can be made available for sale after the project is completed. I also reserve the right to make limited edition sculptures of this completed Bronze Sculpture to be offered for sale to others after completion of the project.
The commissioned work usually takes several months to complete, depending on the size of the workload currently existing at the studio.
